Duty
April was dominated by a citation for jury duty in the middle of the month. In the end I wasn’t required to attend court, but wasn’t let off the hook until the Wednesday evening. As I gained time I was able to cast and finish a sculpture for the Royal Scottish Academy Annual Exhibition.

My sculpture was modelled in plasticine, then a rubber mould was taken from it, it was then cast in plaster.
The following week I was at the RSA serving on the hanging and arrangements committee for the exhibition, alongside my peers making decisions about where works were installed by trying many permutations. Lennox Dunbar is the Conveyor this year, he has a great eye for how to balance the disparate artworks in the exhibition.
The Convenor of Architecture is Robin Webster, here is a glimpse of some of my favourite models.
