Endings and Beginnings
December began with a trip to the North York Moors, during my visit I came across this lovely bit of carving in Glaisdale.
It was straight back to an Eco-printing workshop run by Jessica Crisp at Fife College in Glenrothes. We arranged this as part of the Dunfermline Learning Campus project, working with students on the furniture course who are about to learn how to upholster. The idea is that in the future they will be able to use this process to create their own unique, environmentally friendly printed fabric.
I plan to explore methods of staining oak using similar principles when I develop ideas for my public commission for Dunfermline Learning Campus.
At the same time I was beginning to work on the arrangement of some of my models for a forth-coming exhibition. I was thinking about using different levels (that’s why the bear is elevated in the first picture), but decided it was best to keep things as simple as possible.

I ended the year exhibiting this little Mouse Medal in the RSA Christmas Show.
