In 1993 I undertook a residency for the Portsoy Harbour Tercentenary celebrations, I was based at the Portsoy Marble Shop. I began carving Harbouring the Past there. I completed it in 1994 at the Scottish Sculpture Workshop (SSW) where I worked at the time.
In January 1995 I flew to Stavanger to set up the first of the SSW Scandex exhibitions at the Stavanger Kulterhus.
