Solo Exhibition – Patriothall Gallery, Edinburgh

I worked in the gallery making the works which I planned in advance.

The title ABC… refers to a genre of artists working in the mid 1960s who we recognise broadly as Minimalists. It is not intended to classify or brand the work, or as a stylistic gag, but as a starting point; acknowledging the past, engaging with the present and looking to the future.

The large sculpture is called Refuge II, it relates to an earlier work that I made for the Scottish Sculpture Open in 1993.

Exhibition installation shot, large cardboard structure in the middle. Texts and photos on the walls in the distance and templates to the right. The gallery has cylindrical pillars which are behind the big sculpture on the left and right.
List of inspiration and reference for ABC Exhibition. Artists names and art terms.
